“Willy, Willy”

Description

"Where is my little one hiding tonight, Willy, Willy, Come from your hiding-place, little eyes bright, Willy, Willy, loving and true." "Ah, but my heart is forgetting its pain, Willy, Willy, Never on earth shall I see thee again, Willy, Willy...."

Notes

Randolph's source claims it came from the Civil War era, and there is certainly a hint of a song for a lost soldier boy. But it seems to me that there's also a bit of lullaby in there. I wish we knew more verses. - RBW
