From Anne Warner, Traditional American Folk Songs from the Anne &
Frank Warner Collection, #95, pp. 235-236. From the singing of
Homer Cornett, Beech Mountain, North Carolina, 1959.

On the wild stormy deep
With Jesus I'll sleep,
And hold to His loving hand.
In a home above
I'll be there with God,
And rejoice in a happy land.

Chorus:
My soul was sad,
My heard was sore,
Out on this stormy sea.
I spoke to God
In humble ways,
And there He appeared to me.
