Capstan shanty. "Oh, Shenandoh, my bully boy, I long to hear you holler, Way-ay, ay ay ay, Shenandoh. I lub ter bring er tot er tum en see ye make a swoller, Way-ay..."


According to Hugill, this was a Negro shanty, but not used so much as sea as when heaving at the winches when working cargo. Bullen collected it in Georgetown, Demerara, South Africa. - SL
