“I Never Will Turn Back Any More”

Description

"When I was a boy I had a little mule That I always rode to Sunday School. Lord, I never will turn back any more." Humorous stanzas of religious life: The mule "got in an awful way"; the singer meets Satan in a meadow or runs into a hornet's nest

Notes

This reads like a humorous take on a church hymn; several of the verses float. It looks a lot like "Chased Old Satan Through the Door," but that seems to be built on a different hymn. - RBW

Cross references
