“God Bless the Master of this House”

"God bless the master of this house with a gold chain round his neck, O where his body sleeps or wakes, Lord send his soul to rest." The listener is reminded of Christ's crucifixion, death, and redeeming blood. (A New Year's blessing is given.)

This piece shares many of its words with "The Moon Shone Bright," and the general sense of the piece is very similar. But the tune and stanza form are different, so -- barring a "missing link" -- I list them separately. - RBW
